You shall go to the ball...

Updated: Jul 21, 2020

After 12 months of assemblies, lessons, events, workshops, and the biggest sustainable fashion competition of its kind. The countdown to our Fashion & Fairytale Exhibition has begun! Get your FREE tickets now.

The last two weeks have seen a blur of activity at Fashion & Fairytale HQ. From lockdown casting a heavy shadow over the future of our exhibition, we are now working quickly to ensure we can welcome you all to a safe and socially-distanced celebration of sustainable fashion from the 3rd-5th August.

We have had several meetings with the wonderful Assembly Rooms, Bath team, who could not have been more accommodating of our mission to create an inspiring, interactive and immersive exhibition, that showcases the wonderful creativity of BANES children.

Our event will be the only one taking place at this historic building between the 3-5th August, so you can rest assured that there is plenty of space, hand gel and fresh air from the garden to enable you all to relax.

All FREE tickets are simple and quick to book using Eventbrite. This system will allow you to plan ahead, make sure that everyone has enough space and time to fully appreciate these amazing designs, PLUS you can enter into an amazing prize draw to win a sustainable fashion style-over, worth £200, with personal stylist, Rachel P Blake! Click here to book your time slot.

Our curator, Kersti Haabjoern of the Victoria Art Gallery, Bath, has been hard at work planning out the layout of Cindy Beadman's fairytale gowns and pondering how to exhibit the 300 students' designs. Whilst Debenhams, Southgate stepped in to the rescue when our source of mannequins ran dry.

We are indebted to Rosemary Harden and her team at the Fashion Museum, Bath for loaning us Cindy Beadman's pocket dress despite the sad news that the museum will stay closed until March 2021.

Meanwhile the wonderful creators Rachel Blake, Mary Warren, Catherine Miller and Jane Newland are putting the final details to the winning students' sustainable fashion creations.

We cannot wait to see what the fabulous duo at Forrest & Tilley create to adorn our mannequins. Indeed we are indebted to all our sponsors and collaborators - without whom, we would never have able to have planted such an inspiring seed of sustainability.

This not for profit, community project, is the brain child of our Creative Director, Cindy and we are so excited to show her how her dreams have been realised.

Tickets are limited - please don't delay in booking yours.

We are still in need of a sustainable florist who might like to create a natural installation at the exhibition - if you'd like to showcase your skills, get in touch.
