The show must go on...

Updated: Mar 30, 2020

Despite a great deal of anxiety surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic, everyone at Fashion & Fairytale is determined to keep the project moving forward as planned. With so many negative news stories, and after such overwhelming enthusiasm for sustainable fashion shown by B&NES students, there is no better time to devote our energies to something positive.

The four winning designs, will be manufactured, we will have a catwalk show and the exhibition will go ahead, even if we need to postpone until the longer term picture becomes clearer.

This week we had the delight of presenting prizes to some fabulous designers. We were lucky enough to beat the school closures and hand over certificates and generous prizes that will be well suited to spending more time inside.

Knowing that a face to face millinery workshop may not have been possible, we were blown away by the bulging parcel of hat trims, fabric and fascinators personally curated by owner of VV Rouleaux, Annabel Lewis, that arrived at Fashion & Fairytale HQ.

As you can see both our runners up and our winners were delighted by their goodies and extremely proud and excited by the prospect of their designs coming to life on the catwalk on 9th July and at the Fashion & Fairytale Exhibition, from the 3-5th August.

We are still keen to enlist the support of local manufacturers who have pattern cutting or sewing skills and who may have a period of time at home on their hands...

Sound like you? Then please get in touch ASAP so we can breathe life into the beautiful designs of B&NES students and celebrate sustainability, creativity and imagination in an uncertain world.
