The judging has begun!

Updated: Feb 16, 2020

With hundreds of incredible entries from all over B&NES, our fabulous judges have had their work cut out.

Today was the first day of judging the Fashion & Fairytale design entries and we were spoiled for choice. From Rabbits to Spiders, Harlequins to Dragon Men, the array of imaginative approaches and consideration of the natural environment has mightily impressed our panel of expert judges and brought a tear to Cindy Beadman's eye.

Now seems like a very good time to introduce our judges. They have all generously given up their time working in the fashion industry, worlds of fashion education and commercial and personal styling and each brings their own expertise to the judging table.

JUDGES:

Firstly, Andy Jackson; Having worked for over twenty years as a Head of Design for brands which have included F&F, Bhs, Fat Face, Marks & Spencer, Debenhams and River Island. Andy is now operating as a consultant working with a variety of businesses focusing on sustainability and circular fashion. More recently he’s joined Common Objective (formerly The Ethical Fashion Forum) as one of their external consultants.

Rachel P Blake has been a friend to Fashion & Fairytale since the beginning, but brought her training as a primary school teacher as well as her fashion credentials to the judging table. A commercial and personal stylist with a background in Fashion Design, Rachel also works as Style Editor on Circus Journal, a creative magazine with quarterly editions in Bath and Bristol.

Emma Reichenbach is a highly experienced international surface designer who specialises in embellishment and print. She is also Teaching Fellow in Fashion Design, Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton. Having worked with some of the most high profile, global fashion houses, Emma draws on her experience as an artist and of the fashion industry to help identify our four worthy winners.

What a panel - we hope you'll agree the entries are in safe hands and we can't wait to announce our four finalists at the end of February. Keep checking our Instagram and Facebook pages for stories, events and collaborations. There is always something going on at Fashion & Fairytale HQ and we have big news in store.
