The closing date for our Fashion & Fairytale design competition is the 31st January, so if you are yet to submit your entry then get a wriggle on!
With fabulous prizes to win (including My Small World toys, vouchers from The Makery, a Wiltshire Scrapstore leather workshop and a top of the range sewing machine from the Sewing Studio in Bath) AND the chance for your design to be manufactured and exhibited alongside Cindy Beadman's iconic nature inspired gowns at our August Exhibition, it's a once upon a time opportunity!
We are keeping busy at Fashion & Fairytale HQ; entries are flooding through the door and this week we spent an afternoon in the company of some enthusiastic designers from St Gregory's secondary school to deliver a workshop to Combe Down Primary School pupils on fast fashion and sustainability.
Joanne Bowden, St Gregory's Art Lead, Year 7 pupils, Catherine Cook, Charlotte Taylor-Weekes, Amelie Brindley and Year 11 pupil Imogen Evans enthusiastically shared their design process and creative thinking, whilst helping the Year 5 Combe Down class to develop their own designs and gain confidence with their drawing skills.
All winning designs will be judged by a panel of industry experts (to be revealed shortly) and the four winning designs from each of the following four age categories - KS1, KS2, Secondary and Undergraduate - and be manufactured with support from local recycling centre, Wiltshire Scrapstore.
